From Mimi Anderson:

On the 11th July I will be leaving for Andalusia to take part in a 250km 5 day staged race – 13th – 17th July.  The course, will provide a very demanding test not just to our legs but also our character and determination. Temperatures will be high ( 35-45C ), climbs numerous and long and the trails are scenic and demanding. Over 90% is off-road, mountain and desert tracks with the majority of tarmac in the final km when we approach the stage village finishes.

There is a fantastic field of competitors from all over the world - competition is going to be tough but exciting.  My training hasn’t exactly gone to plan (there’s a surprise!) before I did my back to back Comrades I had a stress fracture in my left foot which hadn’t completely healed which meant that on my return to the UK I had to take a further 3 ½ weeks off running – however fingers crossed it has now healed.  I am looking forward to the challenge of running with some top runners but above all am looking forward to running in the mountains and being privileged to see some beautiful scenery.

If you would like to follow my progress during the event you can do so by going to my website www.marvellousmimi.com and click onto TRACK MIMI LIVE – I will be the PINK DOT! The race website is http://www.alandalusultratrail.com/ they will hopefully be posting results daily.

Thank you to the Inkerman Group for providing me with my tracking system it brings running to so many people and hopefully encourages people to put on their trainers and give running a go!

Enjoy!
