The Al Andalus Ultra Trail is now over! The 250km 5 day race was a tough one. The course was extremely hard and day one was one of the most challenging I have done in my races so far.
My total time for the 5 days was 26hrs 58 minutes coming 8th overall and 1st Lady – I did have to work my little socks of as I was being chased by a French Lady plus I was told that if I didn’t come in as first lady on all 5 days I wouldn’t be allowed my Bottle (or two!) of Rose at the end of the race and as you know I am rather partial to a glass or two – good carbo loading, that’s my excuse anyway!!
There was a 40 percent dropout rate during the event which just goes to show how challenging the race was – running up and down mountains all day in temperatures of 40 degrees with very little shade isn’t easy!!
Many thanks to everyone who sent me messages of support and encouragement during the race – these as you know are always HUGELY appreciated and much needed – needless to say I burst into tears about 5 minutes after I had finished - always do – totally pathetic I know!!!!
