Jason began racing mountain bikes in 2004 at the age of 35 after setting a goal of racing the Iceman as his first race to motivate him through shoulder surgery recovery in 2003. In the next five years he steadily moved up through the ranks while shedding pounds and getting into the best shape of his life. He has competed as high as the Elite classification and has competed in endurance events such as the Leadville 100 and plans to compete in the Pennsylvania’s 2010 Wilderness 101 and Wisconsin’s Insane Terrain Challenge. Starting a family in late 2008 slowed Jason down, but he is committed to the bike and will continue to ride and race for the love of it and for fitness, and to teach his son the importance and values of health, dedication, fitness and camaraderie that come with mountain bike racing.
