Ian Adamson is a world renowned endurance athlete, event director, published author and motivational speaker based in Boulder, Colorado. As an iconic adventure athlete, Ian is dedicated to educating and motivating people in their quest to master skills in their professional, personal, athletic and family lives.
Ian graduated from Sydney University with an honors degree in Mechanical Engineering and from Chapman University, California, with a Masters in Sports Medicine. During his ten years working in the implantable medical device industry, he started a successful manufacturing business, Reflex Medical Products, Inc. and trained as an airplane pilot, receiving his private pilots license in 1992.In 1996 Ian started his own project management consulting business Ado Consulting, LLC, working first in the medical device industry and later as an event manager and race director. Using the flexibility afforded as a consultant, he dedicated his spare time to training for adventure racing, which resulted in his first major international title win in the 1996 Eco-Challenge. This success (with an unprecedented three wins with three more podium finishes) catapulted him into professional sports, with major sponsorship from athletic companies including Reebok, Salomon, Balance Bar and currently Nike.From 1996 through 2003 Ian was a principal and executive in several corporate speaking and training companies. In 2001 Ian partnered with television producers who had supervised Mark Burnettss Eco-Challenge and Survivor shows and started I and I Productions, LLC. His company produced a series of international adventure television shows for the Outdoor Life Network and Mens Journal.Today Ian is the event producer for 24 Hours of Triathlon, guest lecturer at the University of Colorado, Boulder Business School and co-captain of the worlds most successful adventure racing squad, Team Nike.
Ian is the most successful adventure racer of all time with six world championship wins, 15 world championship podium finishes and 14 international adventure race championship titles. He is a three time and current world record holder for endurance kayaking (262 miles in 24 hours.) Ian has competed internationally in adventure racing, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering and sailing.

Ian has been a professional adventure athlete since 1997 and currently races as co-captain of Team Nike.
