Fighting the Most Common Form of Children’s Brain Tumor: PLGA

The 2007 Endurance Trust team is dedicating their efforts to make a difference in the lives of over 15,000 children suffering from pediatric low grade astrocytomas, the most common form of childhood brain tumors. By uniting with FightPLGA, the Pediatric Low Grade Astrocytoma Foundation, Inc. http://www.fightplga.org, Endurance Trust hopes to raise $250,000 in the upcoming October Sahara Desert race to fund cutting edge research to find a cure for PLGA.

Until now, PLGA was considered an “orphan disease” with little scientific progress in treatment options over the past 20 years. According to experts, current treatments – surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation – offer conflicting and incomplete solutions for patients. These treatments often result in additional critical complications and permanent adverse physical and intellectual side effects, and may cause death.
FightPLGA’s goal is to change the outcome of thSSs disease for thousands of children around the world. By increasing awareness of this disease through parent advocacy efforts with the National Institutes of Health and other cancer agencies, raising money to fund revolutionary research projects, and creating a cohesive, interactive team of experts, fight PLGA hopes to develop and execute a comprehensive Research Strategy against PLGA.
The 15,000+ children suffering from PLGA deserve to fight for their dreams, not for their lives. FightPLGA is working hard to ensure that this happens.Read the letter of support this wonderful organization has sent us!
